【Sageo】Recommended for Iai! Sageo made with Sanada Himo for Japanese swords, Iai swords, etc.

This sageo (sword knot) was meticulously crafted by an artist with 15 years of Iaido experience, using Sanada-himo.
This product is made from durable cotton Sanada-himo (bag weave) from the long-established Kanazawa workshop, Orimoto Sumiya. Each sageo is finished by hand.

Sanada-himo is a cord woven with warp and weft threads, and its characteristics of resistance to friction and pulling have led to its widespread use since ancient times for the cords of boxes that store tea ceremony utensils and for sword sageo. It also develops a unique texture with use.

The length is 240 cm, which is standard for Japanese swords and Iaido swords, and the width is 1.2 cm.

Because it is made of high-quality Sanada-himo, you can cut it to your desired length and use it as an obi-jime (sash cord) or for handmade materials. Some people also use it as a blood stopper for portable shrines.

It can be easily threaded through most kurigata (pommel knobs) without snagging. Please note that there may be slight variations in length due to the manufacturing process.

*For tanto (daggers) and wakizashi (short swords), the length can be shortened. Please let us know in the comment section if you wish to do so.
