Description
Vintage Chinese Bamboo Woven Porcelain Gaiwan Set of 2 in Original Presentation Box, Handcrafted Zhusi Kouci Tea Ceremony Cups, Rare Collector Gift, Gongfu Teaware, San Cai Wan An exceptional vintage Chinese handcrafted tea set consisting of two complete traditional gaiwans (6 pieces total): two bowls, two lids, and two matching saucers, presented in the original fitted presentation box. Each gaiwan is meticulously wrapped in fine handwoven natural bamboo over thin white porcelain using the traditional Zhusi Kouci (竹丝扣瓷) technique, a remarkable Sichuan bamboo weaving craft admired for generations. A traditional gaiwan, also known as a San Cai Wan (Three-Part Tea Bowl), symbolizes Heaven, Humanity, and Earth. The lid retains heat and aroma while serving as a strainer during pouring, the porcelain bowl is used for brewing loose leaf tea, and the saucer provides a stable base while collecting condensation. The slight movement between the bowl and saucer is a traditional feature of authentic gaiwan construction rather than a manufacturing flaw. The finely woven bamboo is both beautiful and functional, acting as a natural thermal insulator that allows comfortable handling of hot porcelain during Gongfu tea preparation. The original presentation box is an important part of this complete surviving set and greatly enhances both its collectible value and gift presentation. A distinctive artisan detail is the traditional hand-carved toggle clasp made from genuine natural material r
