Antique Victorian Lace Fan Amber/Tortoiseshell Color Fan Point de Rose Guards
A large antique fan (circa 1837-1901, Victorian era) made of French or Belgian antique lace, purchased in France.
Includes a carrying pouch with handmade antique lace embroidery.
An elegant fan, 24cm in length, suitable for both display and practical use.
The combination of beautiful amber and caramel-colored celluloid sticks, resembling tortoiseshell, and clean off-white/ivory lace is refreshingly cool.
A delicate and elegant piece where soft, delicate antique lace is sewn onto light, glossy sticks.
It subtly carries the nostalgia of a bygone era.
Features Bruges bobbin lace and Brussels needlepoint lace applications/mixed lace.
Fine Point de Gaze/tulle lace is adorned with hand-embroidered Point de Rose, with a large, three-dimensional French old rose in the center, its petals appearing to float.
The tulle (Point de Gaze) itself is delicately hand-woven.
Its size and lightness make it suitable for everyday use.
Heavy or overly large items are not ideal for outings, but this fan is not only for display but also practical.
Natural materials are timeless and suitable for Japanese attire for outings, such as Tsumugi, Ro (unlined silk), Awase (lined silk), Komon (patterned kimono), and Homongi (semi-formal kimono). It is also appropriate for attending the theater.
It would also be lovely for special occasions with dresses or other outfits.

There are a few small holes in the tulle, but they are not noticeable.
There is a single small dot embroidery near the rose that appears to be a slight discoloration, but it is not noticeable.

Three of the 18 ribs were broken and have been amateurly repaired with glue and tulle lace to be inconspicuous. The fan opens and closes smoothly.
It can also be used as a collar if detached from the frame.
The frame is warped, distorted, and bent, possibly due to age, but this adds to its beauty when displayed.
