Master Craftsman Gyoun - Kaga Maki-e Camellia Box - Raden Lacquerware - Black Lacquer - Lacquerware - With Original Box - Antique - Traditional Crafts

Thank you for viewing.
This is a beautiful maki-e writing box that was found during the sorting of a relative's belongings.
The design of camellias is rendered in gold maki-e and vibrant colored lacquer on a black lacquer base. Some of the petals are adorned with mother-of-pearl inlay (raden), which shimmers with iridescent colors depending on the light. This is a valuable piece of traditional craftsmanship, executed with exquisite detail and care.
The lid's surface is inscribed with Gyoun, the maki-e artist's pseudonym, and a red seal, indicating it is a work by a named artist.

The item has a glossy finish overall, with no major cracks or noticeable peeling of the lacquer.
However, please understand that this is an antique item that has aged over time, and the following points apply:
There are fine scuffs and minor scratches due to age on the corners, edges, and bottom of the lid. (Please refer to the photos and zoom in on the areas marked with circles.)
There are faint scuff marks on the back.
The wooden box (tomobako) shows signs of age, such as discoloration and dirt.
We are looking for buyers who can appreciate the charm of old items and have an understanding of antiques.
