A maki-e tea caddy in the Kinrinji style.
Although it appears black in the photos, it is actually Tame-nuri (a transparent brown lacquer). There is a maki-e design of plovers on the underside of the lid.
This is a long-term storage item, but it shows almost no signs of use and is in good condition.
