[Artist]
Naruse Sōkyo was a bamboo craftsman born in the Meiji era. Sōkyo's tea scoops are characterized by his use of chisels rather than small knives for carving, and with this technique, he left behind many delicate and intricate works.
He is also known for the actor Tsurutaro Kataoka's fondness for Sōkyo's tea scoops, which he uses at his own tea ceremonies.
