Signed JM Studio Art Pottery Vase Texture Bark Turquoise Brown Sculptural Vessel

One-of-a-kind signed studio art pottery sculptural vessel featuring a dramatic heavily textured surface reminiscent of tree bark, geological strata or weathered stone.  The cylindrical form combines a smoother wheel-thrown lower body with an exceptionally tactile upper section composed of irregular layered clay textures. Rich earthy brown and rust tones contrast beautifully with mottled turquoise, teal and verdigris glazing that settles into the deep crevices and emphasizes the sculptural surface.  Irregular openings within the textured upper portion appear to be intentional elements of the handmade design rather than damage. The rim is organically formed and intentionally uneven.  The unglazed base bears an impressed/incised artists monogram that appears to read JM. The maker has not been conclusively identified and the piece is therefore being offered as signed studio pottery without attribution.
