This is an antique, genuine silk, ro (summer weave) maru obi (full obi) featuring a gorgeous arrangement of Japanese flowers in pale turquoise, pink, green, and other colorful hues on a gold and silver background.
This ro maru obi is exceptionally rare, possessing a splendor and presence that is hard to come by. Please note that the gold and silver threads show some signs of dullness in places. As it is an older item, the obi core is still firm. I considered unraveling it to make it into a heko obi (a soft, unstructured obi), but I haven't gotten around to it... I would be delighted if you could use it as an obi for stage performances or photo shoots. Alternatively, how about using the beautiful pattern for remakes and handmade items? We ask for your understanding regarding antique, used, and pre-owned items.
