Rare 1930s Art Deco Bakelite Brooch Reverse Carved Lucite Dome Cherry Flower

Rare vintage 1930s Art Deco Bakelite flower brooch featuring a striking reverse-carved Lucite dome centerpiece surrounded by deeply carved, dimensional flower petals. The brooch displays a gorgeous translucent cherry-red to deep burgundy coloration that beautifully catches the light and highlights the detailed carving.  The central Lucite dome features reverse-carved detailing, with the design carved from the reverse side to create wonderful depth and dimension when viewed through the front. The bold radiating petals and domed center give this piece a dramatic sculptural appearance characteristic of Art Deco-era jewelry.  Measures approximately 2.25 inches across and features an early-style C-clasp closure on the back.  Material was tested with 409 and produced a yellow reaction consistent with vintage Bakelite.
