Does it have waterproofing?

We recommend using the tape primarily for reinforcing seams to prevent water ingress. As there are many types of fabrics, it may not completely seal holes depending on the material.
If you first repair the hole itself with a wet bond adhesive and then use this tape for reinforcement, you can further prevent water ingress.
Using an apparel adhesive will enhance waterproofing. Of course, the tape alone is also effective.

Personally, I used it to prevent water ingress from fraying seams, as I believe that's where water always seeps in.
I also used it on torn jersey sections.
To be precise, it doesn't completely eliminate water ingress, but it significantly improves durability.
This is my personal opinion, so please use it as a reference.

Are there different types of Melco tape?
A:
When making apparel, elasticity is prioritized as it's used in long continuous pieces. However, for repairs, where the goal is to fix small holes or frays of a few centimeters, this tape will serve the purpose well. It's easier to understand if you think of Melco tape for apparel construction and this tape for repairs.
Moreover, if you ask whether a repair tape can last a lifetime, it's unlikely. There will be areas that cannot be fixed with tape, and at that point, it's time to replace the apparel. So, if you use the tape expecting it to last for an average of one season to longer, you won't have to worry as much.
It's definitely better than not repairing it at all!
