An eyewear collection by Mr. Yamamura of Kobe-based vintage eyewear store SPEAKEASY and Mr. Yanagihara of Sapporo-based vintage eyewear store Fre'quence. Both are specialists in Frame France (vintage French-made frames), which led the world in the 1940s-50s with its high quality. They have jointly published the archival book Frame France, featuring detailed, life-size photographs of each precious deadstock pair of glasses, disassembled down to the smallest screw. Based on the timeless designs and details of French vintage eyewear, they have directed this collection to be more contemporary by modernizing only the sizing, allowing more people to experience the atmosphere of French vintage frames without excessive modification. Each piece is handcrafted by artisans.
