This is a hanjuban (half-juban), an undergarment that combines a肌着 (hadagi - undershirt) and a襦袢 (juban - under-kimono), allowing you to wear a kimono without a full-length juban.
Perfect for washable kimonos and casual kimonos!

・The body is made of sarashi (bleached cotton) for excellent moisture absorption and a refreshing feel.
・Features an okumi (overlapping panel) for a wider front overlap, making it less likely to come undone.
・Cute, seven-tenths length, straight sleeves made of cotton lace.
・Comes with a polyester ro (gauze-like fabric) han-eri (half-collar), ready to wear immediately.
・Can insert a collar stiffener.
・No built-in aids like a collar-loosening strap, but the hem can be pulled to adjust the neckline (shallow nape curve).
・Easy care: Machine washable on delicate cycle.

What is Hanjuban?
Originally worn by dancers instead of a full-length juban, it's less prone to coming undone as leg movements don't affect the upper body, and it's easier to put on than a full-length juban.

It also allows you to wear recycled kimonos with varying sleeve lengths without worrying about the juban sleeve length.

By attaching Velcro to the armholes and preparing replacement sleeves, it can also transform into a usotsuki juban (deceptive juban).

You can also sew your preferred han-eri over the attached one.

While a full-length juban is necessary for formal occasions, a hanjuban is recommended for casual scenes due to its ease of wear and care.
I personally wear only this hanjuban and kimono pants or kimono petticoat as kimono innerwear year-round.
I have several prepared with different han-eri attached all the time ^^

While not as quick and easy as a T-shirt hanjuban, it allows for more personal expression, making it the best choice for those who want to customize their kimono style!
