Shinodake / Medake Bamboo Shinobue / Transverse Flute Material 20.0~20.5mm

Thank you for viewing my listing.
The bamboo is harvested from well-ventilated bamboo groves in the Hokuso and Nanso regions of Chiba Prefecture, and the western and southern regions of Ibaraki Prefecture. I select and harvest bamboo that is 3 to 5 years old during the coldest season.
After harvesting, the bamboo is dried for several years, and only the heaviest pieces are carefully selected.
While I initially select bamboo that appears to be of good quality, some pieces do become lighter after drying. All such bamboo is discarded.
My bamboo is thick-walled and of high quality old bamboo, so the surface skin may be slightly peeled. There may also be small scratches or stains.
Bamboo with a clean surface looks good, but clean skin generally indicates younger bamboo. Younger bamboo is thinner and lighter.
Thin and light bamboo also affects the sound, producing a light tone that doesn't carry far.
Furthermore, perfectly round and straight bamboo is rare. Therefore, after drying, each piece of my bamboo is carefully heated and straightened using a bending jig to make it as straight and round as possible.
Bent or oval bamboo will also affect breathability.
Personally, I find bent flutes to be aesthetically unappealing...

The bamboo butt is cut straight, allowing you to adjust the size yourself during production.
Please note that there are lines drawn to indicate the bending direction during the straightening process. These are pencil marks and can be erased with an eraser.

The item will be wrapped in bubble wrap and shipped in simple packaging.
