[ZANTER]
Zanter, whose name is derived from yamato bito (mountain climber), has developed and provided highly functional downwear that can withstand harsh climbs and overwintering, such as for the Japanese Alpine Club and Antarctic research expeditions.
Based on technology and functionality that boasts world-leading quality, it is a professional-use apparel manufacturer specializing in Japanese downwear that develops numerous fashion-forward downwear brands.

[HISTORY]
1951 - Around the time Japan was still in the post-war occupation period and beginning its history of reconstruction, the first downwear was born in Japan.
The brand name Zanter was inspired by the image of a mountain climber.
Even in an era when there was no room for leisure, the name carried a strong desire to create light and warm, authentic mountaineering clothing with Japanese hands.
It has been used as overwintering wear for the first ascent of Manaslu by the Japanese Alpine Club in 1956, and for the first Antarctic research expedition in 1957. It has since been equipped for the Japanese Alpine Club's ascents of world mountains and continues to be used as overwintering wear for Antarctic research expeditions to this day.
The spirit inherited from Antarctic research expedition downwear. Zanter, which has been providing work downwear for Antarctic research expeditions for over 60 years, has given its name to the brand ZANTER JAPAN.
