A manual camera with a coupled rangefinder. In 1938-1940, a camera called Rubikon was designed and prototyped for general 35mm photography. This was later adapted for X-ray indirect photography and became Rubicon (the 'k' was changed to 'c'). The first Konica was developed based on these, becoming Konica's first 35mm film camera. In 1946, it was decided to name Konishiroku's cameras Konica, and the following year, the Konica Type I (Occupied Japan) was manufactured, but it was not commercially sold under the Allied occupation. Commercial sales began in 1948, and this is the model being offered. It features a collapsible lens barrel and a KONIRAPID-S shutter. The film is advanced by pressing a button on the back. The shutter cocking lever and the release are both on the lens barrel.
In 1950, a model equipped with a Hexanon 50mm F2.8 lens was added, and the rangefinder's double image was changed to a yellow tint. This listing is for that type.
It is capable of taking photos. However, due to age-related deterioration, there is fungus and slight haziness in the lens and viewfinder.
If you are concerned, please perform maintenance yourself.
Even if old cameras appear clean, when viewed under strong light, dust ingress is always present.
Additionally, the leatherette is significantly deteriorated and requires replacement.
I have taken actual test shots using film where possible. I would like you to assess the condition of the test shots (including flaws such as incorrect exposure, or the effects of fungus and haze).
However, even items confirmed with test shots using film are not new cameras. Not all aperture values and shutter speeds have been tested, and shooting environments differ. Please forgive any potential overlooked defects.
I do not accept price negotiations or requests for price reductions.
Returns are not accepted to prevent swapping of items.
