I found a small scratch on the bottom of the bell (please see photos). I don't recall placing it on a hard surface, and while it's in a place that would be hidden, it is still a scratch. Therefore, I have changed the item's condition from Near unused to No noticeable scratches or dirt. Thank you for your understanding.
?? This is a domestically produced Daitokuji bell.
I purchased it about 7-8 years ago for a little over 30,000 yen. However, the sound was too loud for my apartment, so I stopped using it immediately and kept it stored in my closet.
As I have struck it a few times, there is some slight signs of use on the white leather part of the mallet.
This is not a heavy, high-quality item worth hundreds of thousands of yen that is dedicated to temples, so the sound is as expected.
