Soil for Shrubs and Caudex Plants (Adenium) using Akadama soil with three lines, 5L, Pachypus, Seedling

Shrub-type / General Caudex Plants: Succulent Potting Mix - Enhanced Water Retention & Nutrient Retention (Small Granule - Fine Granule Mix)

This succulent potting mix is blended using high-quality Akadama soil and San-bon-sen Akadama soil, with a focus on slightly enhanced water retention.
While ensuring excellent drainage, the improved water retention allows for the cultivation of vigorous, fast-growing, and larger plants such as shrub-type plants like Operculicarya and Commiphora, seedlings, and Agave offsets.

*Please note: The preference for water-retentive soil for shrub-type plants is a personal opinion. If you prioritize drainage, we also offer a drainage-focused soil, Agave & Caudex Original Blend Potting Mix (brown), so please choose that option.
*For 3L, please purchase two 1.5L bags. For 4L, please purchase two 2L bags.

- Obsidian perlite enhances aeration within the pot, creating an environment where roots can breathe more easily, supplying minerals to the roots for excellent root development and robust plant growth.
- Bellabon Premium is a high-grade coconut coir chip that has been treated to remove tannins. It excels in water absorption and retention, expanding when wet and contracting when dry. This repeated expansion and contraction creates air pockets, turning the soil into a breathing soil that promotes root growth.
- The peat pellets within Golden Potting Soil provide water and nutrient retention while maintaining their structure as hard pellets, ensuring aeration for an extended period without degradation.
- Bamboo charcoal is made from Moso bamboo sourced from Fukuoka Prefecture. It is several times more porous than wood charcoal, offering superior aeration, water retention, and nutrient retention, and is effective in activating beneficial microorganisms. It is also rich in minerals essential for root growth, promoting increased root mass and robust development.
