Camisole 28 [Meisen Remake Kimono Remake]

This camisole was made by unraveling a Meisen kimono.

The original kimono was in very good condition. (Photos 13-15)
Since Meisen fabric can sometimes lose color when washed with water, it was only high-temperature sterilized with an iron.

It has an attractive color combination of purple with green stripes. Black is used for the warp threads, giving it an elegant feel.
The hexagram and flower patterns are very cute.
The fabric has a sheen and a lovely crisp texture characteristic of Meisen.

To prevent the overall silhouette from looking bulky, fine elastic has been inserted only in the back yoke for a streamlined look.

Silk kimonos are very precious.
While unraveling a kimono is a lot of work, it's wonderful to be able to enjoy the feel of Japanese fabric in your daily life.
It's also great to be able to enjoy the unique colors and combinations found in Japan.

I enjoy sewing as a hobby, specializing in straight-line stitching.
I remake old kimonos such as Tsumugi, Meisen, and Komon, as well as furoshiki (wrapping cloths).

As this is a handmade item by an amateur, there may be thread holes, remaining threads, small scratches, or creases that cannot be removed even with ironing.
