This is a Japanese knife, but the main bevel has not been sharpened; only the edge has been honed.
When sharpening, it is recommended to hone according to the micro-bevel on the edge.
You may sharpen the main bevel to your preference.
This is a single-bevel knife with a micro-bevel.
