British Antique Portwood Sideboard/Cabinet/Display Shelf (94-79)

A sideboard from Portwood, discovered in the English countryside.
1960s. Teak wood.

Portwood, like G-plan, was one of the popular manufacturers in the UK, producing many pieces of furniture that incorporated the Danish Style, which was globally trending at the time.

The frame is made of teak, renowned as one of the world's three major timbers. The wood grain, deepened by the passage of time, offers a unique charm and warmth distinct from brand-new furniture.

Danish Style furniture is highly popular in Japan as well.
This is a well-maintained and highly sought-after sideboard, recommended not only for collectors but also for lovers of mid-century furniture.

It's perfect for use as a storage sideboard in the living room, as a display shelf for your favorite small items, or as a cupboard for dishes in the kitchen.

With its timeless, simple design, this teak furniture will blend well with Japanese homes, allowing you to enjoy your own original interior without being restricted by placement.

It's also great for use as shop display furniture, or for creating a scene reminiscent of European films or interior magazines by combining it with antique furniture in your daily space. It would also be interesting to pair it with modern furniture.

Please note that there are signs of age-related wear, including dirt, scratches, rust, cracks, peeling, stains, and chips. Additionally, there is some damage to the door catches.
Please purchase with an understanding of the above.
