We fill a box to the brim (500g or more) with thick wild *kuromoji* branches, harvested only after the leaves have fallen from deep within the mountains, and hand-split.

Tea brewed from the thick branches is known as the herbal medicine *Ushou*, said to calm the nerves and promote restful sleep, help expel phlegm, soothe coughs, and relieve congestion in the bronchial mucous membranes.
The branches can be steeped two or three times, yielding a color like rosé wine.

【How to make tea】
?Adjust concentration to your preference! Approximately 10 servings using 2 liters of water.
① Bring water to a boil, add one handful per 1 liter of water, and simmer for 15 to 25 minutes.
② Leave the wood chips in the water until it cools.
(If drinking warm, simmer for a slightly longer time.)
③ Strain out the wood chips and any scum using a paper filter or tea strainer.

?Can be steeped two or three times.
?Delicious served hot or cold.
?Caffeine-free / Japanese herbs.

【Example of how to make bath additives】
① Add enough water to a pot to cover the *kuromoji* and boil for about 10 minutes.
② Add the brewed liquid and *kuromoji* branches to your bath.
*If there is still *kuromoji* extract remaining, it can be used several times. It is said to have four times the antifungal effect of tea tree oil and is beneficial for skin conditions.
