This is a double-handled mochi (rice cake) cutting knife.
It was stored in my home warehouse.
It seems to be designed to make it easier to cut hard items like kagami mochi (mirror rice cakes) and bread by applying weight with both hands.

Although it is unused, when the blade cover is removed, there appears to be rust-like discoloration due to age.
