Dog's Luggage Willow (Inu-kori-yanagi)
Five-Color Willow (Goshiki-yanagi)

A flowering tree to enjoy its beautiful foliage.
It is cold-hardy and can grow in partial shade.
It is characterized by variegated patterns appearing from the new shoots, and its charm lies in enjoying the changing leaf colors from pink, white, cream, and yellowish-green.
The leaf colors change from early spring to summer, starting with pink, gradually turning white, then greenish-white, and finally a green with white variegation, adding color to your garden.

It grows well with minimal care, has strong sprouting power, and is often pruned to form hedges or trained as a standard tree in pots. As a garden tree, it is frequently used in its natural clumped form.
To enjoy its beautiful foliage, prune Hakone-dori in December-January, or in March for regions with snow.
Pruning at the wrong time can result in all leaves remaining green without any color change (^^;)
