~Excerpt~
??Cultivation
Thin to one seedling when the true leaves are 3-4. When the true leaves are 4-5, plant with 1m spacing between rows and 80cm spacing between plants.

??Planting
Artichokes grow very large, so allow about 1m of space between plants and rows.

??Repotting/Potting
Grow from seed in the first year, harvest from the second year, and harvest more from the third year. After 4 years, if the seedling's condition deteriorates, renew the old plant.

??Features
A large, perennial plant of the Asteraceae family, native to the Mediterranean coast.
Also known as Chōsen-azami, the large buds are cut before flowering, and the fleshy receptacle (flower base) and the lower parts of the bracts are eaten. It can also be grown for ornamental purposes.
Note: Aphids may appear on stems and the undersides of leaves when buds form. Spider mites and cutworms are also prone to appearing, so eliminate them immediately upon discovery.

Shipping is only via 4th Class Standard Mail (no insurance).
Shipping is every Sunday to Monday.
No shipping to any area served by airmail
(Okinawa, Shikoku, remote islands, Hokkaido).
