Scarabaeus from The Life of Insects Specimen Dung Beetle Dung Roller
Scientific Name: Scarabaeus semipunctatus
Common Name: Dune Scarab
A scarab beetle that also appears in The Insect Book by Jean-Henri Fabre. The bumpy texture on its thorax gives it an exotic look. It evokes a European feel, reminiscent of the medallions found on leather shoes.
