This is a seedling of the fruiting sansho pepper, 'Asakura Sansho'. It is an easy-to-grow grafted seedling.
It is monoecious, so one plant will bear fruit.
Sansho pepper roots are delicate, but this variety is grafted onto a strong rootstock, making it vigorous and hardy.
We have heard from customers who have had trouble keeping sansho alive, so please give this one a try.
Sansho pepper branches grow vigorously.
