[Edamame]
Edamame is a healthy vegetable rich in protein and low in calories.
The potassium content in edamame is 650mg per 100g of edible portion for frozen edamame. This is about 1/4 to 1/5 of the daily requirement. Potassium is a nutrient found abundantly in vegetables and fruits, and edamame contains relatively high amounts, about 1.7 times that of broad beans and 1.9 times that of green peas.
Potassium helps excrete excess sodium, and is expected to help prevent high blood pressure and swelling caused by excessive sodium intake.
