This deciduous shrub produces white, lily-of-the-valley-like flowers. In autumn, the leaves turn Momiji, dramatically changing the atmosphere. It suits both Western and Japanese styles and can also be enjoyed as cut flowers.

Enkianthus perulatus grows to about 2-5 meters tall, making it commonly used as a garden tree for hedges. It can also be grown in pots.

How to take cuttings:
Cut branches to 10-15cm lengths, leaving 1-2 leaves at the tip and removing the rest. Make a slanted cut at the base with a clean knife, soak in water for 1-2 hours, and then insert the cuttings into seedling pots filled with Akadama soil (medium grain) or Kanuma soil (medium grain).
Water thoroughly and keep in partial shade, watering to prevent the soil from drying out.
