Sprengeliana Inland Purple Clone Sprengeliana

Sprengeriiana (sprengeriana) is known to originate from several locations, and the plant being offered is of the inland form originating from inland areas. This type has narrow, small leaves and the bracts of the inflorescence open when it blooms.

This strain was obtained about 10 years ago from a friend who imported it from a nursery in the Czech Republic.
When grown in a location with about 50% shade and good sunlight, enough to prevent leaf burn, the leaves take on a reddish-purple hue, making it a beautiful plant even when not in bloom.
This is a completely different clone from the Purple Clone released by Mr. Takizawa, chairman of the Bromeliad Society.

Recommended for those who are particular about Sprengeriiana.
This plant was kept for the parent stock and is large enough to be expected to bloom next season.
