The core malt spirit of this product is new make (freshly distilled spirit) that Liquor Mountain purchased in multiple barrels during the early days of Nagahama Distillery's founding, with the intention of creating single malts in the future. This spirit, which has been slowly and carefully aged over many years in the land of Shiga, Nagahama, has matured and gained depth. It was then specially blended for our company by Mr. Yaku, the distillery's blender. Key malts include spirits aged in Chateau Mont-Plaisir red wine barrels, as well as spirits that underwent a finishing period in the same barrels. Furthermore, by vating these with carefully selected bourbon barrel spirits, we have created a unique single malt worthy of the name Reserve, which can only be experienced at our company.

The malty and robust character of the Nagahama Distillery's spirit is layered with the gorgeous aroma reminiscent of red fruits from Mont-Plaisir, pleasant tannins, and a deep sweetness. You can enjoy the smooth mouthfeel and luxurious lingering finish brought about by the long aging period.

[Tasting Notes]
Color: A brilliant amber with a faint reddish hue.

Aroma: Initially, rich vanilla and pancakes with honey derived from bourbon barrels. Gradually, thick fruits like plum and blackcurrant, reminiscent of Chateau Mont-Plaisir. A subtle cinnamon appears in the background.

Taste: Concentrated rich flavor and the sweet and sour taste of ripe red berries. The mouthfeel is exceptionally silky, with elegant tannins derived from wine barrels and the fragrance of oak layering to create a luxurious and long-lasting satisfaction.

Nagahama Distillery was established in 2016 within the facilities of Nagahama Roman Beer, which was founded in 1996, as a 20th-anniversary project. Inspired by Scottish craft distilleries, its characteristic spirits, flowing from an Alambic pot still and very thin lyne arm, are exceptionally rich, fruity, and possess a rich malt-derived sweetness.
