This is a sweet wine made from late-harvested organic Pinot Gris grapes, using 40% high-sugar grapes and 60% noble rot grapes.
The Alsace lieu-dit Schofweg (Sheep's Path) got its name from the sight of sheep grazing on the Grasberg mountain.
It has a golden color with orange and amber hues on the rim. It has a concentrated and open aroma. The characteristics of noble rot grapes are expressed. Aromas of dried fruit and raisins, quince jam and malt sugar, gradually revealing aromas of exotic fruits, vanilla, licorice, and caramel.
The rich sweetness of licorice, ripe fruit, and quince jam is impressive, but the excellent acidity provides a well-balanced taste. It has a powerful and rich flavor.
Alcohol content: 11.7%, Residual sugar: 145 g/l, Total acidity: 5.15g/l
