This is a column neck cutter that uses a Makita trimmer motor to cut the insertion groove of flooring.
In addition to cutting the neck of columns, it can also be used for processing inside corners such as decorative stairs and braces.
For inside corners, as shown in the third image, you can push the base back to cut a groove about 9mm deep even in inside corners.
This time, the depth fixing screw has been changed to a tool-less knob screw for easier depth adjustment.
In renovations, when re-installing flooring, it is possible to cut grooves in the flooring in advance where it will interfere with parts such as baseboards, thresholds, vertical trim, and large frames.
When renovating, if you scrape under the wall, you are likely to hit nails. Therefore, by scraping only the upper half of the flooring to be inserted on the wall side, and then scraping the lower half on the flooring side with a groove cutter or router, you can avoid hitting nails.

Capacity: Groove width 6mm
Groove position: 0-9mm from the bottom edge of the floor (6-15mm from the top edge). Can be slightly adjusted both above and below (with fine adjustment function).
Groove depth: Maximum 16mm (with base front/back adjustment function).

Caution: Processing is dangerous, so always hold the machine with both hands and cut slowly, only as much as the blade can cut.
If the blade becomes dull, sharpen it or replace it with a new one. (Spare blades are sold separately).

The working purpose is the same as Matsui Iron Works' edge cutter.
Differences from the edge cutter are:
1. Height can be finely adjusted.
2. Inside corners can also be processed.
3. Both sides of through-columns are possible.
4. Both sides of corner columns are possible.
5. During renovations, to avoid interfering with nails under the baseboard, process only 6mm from the top edge and apply a pre-scooped floor underneath the inserted flooring, so you don't have to worry about nails under the baseboard.

A similar product with a saw attached to a disc grinder is also available, but none of these similar products can finely adjust the height, only cut the top surface of the flooring, and cannot handle different thicknesses or make subtle adjustments up or down.
Also, the bottom surface cannot be cut.
