【Mizudo Susanoo Shrine】
This is a shrine located in Mizudocho, Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture.
The enshrined deity is Susanoo-no-Mikoto.
The ceiling painting was created by the Japanese painter Yasumasa Suzuki, with the intention of dedicating it to the spirits of the person buried in the Mizudo Kofun (ancient tomb) and the victims of the Great Hanshin Earthquake.
The ceiling painting Manyo no Hana (Flowers of Manyo, created in 1998) consists of 165 paintings spread across the entire coffered ceiling of cedar boards, measuring 8 meters east-west and 4 meters north-south.
Flower pressings for Goshuin (temple/shrine seals) where the flower types change with the seasons,
and Manyo poetry Goshuin with monthly changing designs are popular.
Recently, kirie (paper cutting) has also become very popular.
