American Crafted Handmade Cherry Wood Box w Lid Funerary Ashes Storage, Keepsake

Vintage Handcrafted Cherry Wood Storage Box - Keepsakes or Funerary Ashes - Approximate Outside Dimensions 10 x 6 x 7  This beautiful handcrafted cherry wood box is in quite fine condition. It is made of cherry; stained, fine-sanded super smooth, and applied sealed finish. A brass fold-down handle is mounted on the top to lift off the lid that seats down into the box to stay in place. Stained brown with reddish undertones.  The gent that made this box was an accomplished local woodcrafter that made beautiful home wood furnishings out of his home-based wood shop in the 1970's up to about 1990. He made several of these lovely small chests for funerary boxes, but they could be used for any special storage need. I had the pleasure to purchase the few remaining in his estate, and this is the last one available. It is a sturdy box, and will last many, many years with appropriate care. Clean as you would any fine wood furniture.  Condition: Excellent. A handcrafted item, so it will have some imperfections as it was not a machined piece, but any are natural to the woodgrain or handcrafted process. I find nothing to point out except the bottom has some adhesive left on it from a business card he had affixed to it (daughter previously removed for privacy's sake). I wasn't sure what to use to remove the adhesive, so just left as-is.  See the photos in zoom for your best look. Inside appears to be sanded/finished also. The lid has a slight overhang on the box.
