Hammered‎ Aluminum Basket Floral Embossed Loop Handle Designed Aluminum 1940s

The kind of piece that looks like it came from someone's very good grandmotherMid-century hammered aluminum serving basket stamped Designed Aluminum on the base. Rectangular form with a softly scalloped ruffled rim and deeply embossed floral motif throughout the interior — chrysanthemums, grapes, and scrolling leaves in beautiful relief detail. Twisted wire bail handle with a circular loop, folds flat for storage. Measures 13.5 x 10. Good vintage condition — surface scratching consistent with age and use, no dents, no damage to handle or rim. Use it as a bread basket, a fruit bowl, a catch-all on a console, or a display piece on an open shelf. Hammered aluminum from this era is having a major moment in collected, layered interiors. Every piece has a past. Find yours. — Sarah / The Storied House Co.
