The First Xbox is a home video game console released in Japan on February 22, 2002.

Xbox is a home video game console developed and sold by Microsoft. Although it is often written as Xbox in lowercase, the logo and other markings are written in all capital letters as XBOX. It may be referred to as First Xbox or similar to distinguish it from other Xbox hardware.

At the time of the console's release, Xbox referred to a fixed game platform, but later expanded to become a game-centric service platform, such as the entertainment brand in Windows 8 and Xbox Play Anywhere in Windows 10. For information on the brand, please refer to Xbox.

Cumulative worldwide sales slightly exceeded those of the Nintendo GameCube, and it captured the second-largest market share after the PlayStation 2 (hereinafter referred to as PS2) in regions outside of Japan, including North America. Ultimately, it recorded sales of 470,000 units in Japan and 24 million units worldwide.
