Joliet Lasalle, Cadillac, the great explorers, made their base there. The great Indian Chiefs, Tecumsch and Pontiac were associated with its early history. The War of 1812, the Battle of Windsor, the Fenian Raids, all played their part in weaving the colorful tapestry of Windsor's early beginnings. Today, Automotive vehicles, beverages, pharmaceuticals from Windsor are to be seen in the four corners of the world. Five railways connect the city with all parts of Canada and the U.S. A. The city is serviced by both Trans-Canada and American Airlines.
