【Reserved Listing】Vintage Cornet F.E. Olds "Special"
This is a cornet, F.E. Olds 'Special', which I imported from the United States about 20 years ago.
It was manufactured around 1959, with the serial number 332196.
The previous owner was an American jazz trumpeter.
At the time, I couldn't play the trumpet, so I practiced with it about 10 times after purchasing it, but I eventually gave up because I couldn't produce a sound.
The F.E. Olds Special model, while a student model (for learners), is solidly built, easy to play, has a focused tone, and possesses the warm sound characteristic of Olds, making it suitable for jazz and brass bands.
While there is some lacquer peeling and rust, a friend played it and confirmed that it produces a solid sound.

Established in 1908. An American brass instrument manufacturer that became famous for its trombones and trumpets.
The 1950s were the golden age for Olds, with models like Super, Recording, Ambassador, and Special being particularly popular.
This Special was manufactured during the period when Olds produced instruments at their Fullerton factory.
[Features]

Olds valves from that era were renowned for their exceptionally smooth action. The nickel silver valve casings are durable and can be used for a long time with proper maintenance.
