This is a vintage, late-1960's Sears hard lens case, Stock No. 78196, featuring a leatherette shell, designed to protect the lens from impact, scratches, and dust. It is a hard-sided case and fits a range of medium telephoto lenses, such as 135mm f/2.8 or 80-200 mm f/4.5 zoom lens, which were popular at the time.
