This set, part of the rare 1840 Collection features everything Royal Grafton fine bone china was known for - the striking cobalt blue, the beautiful floral design, and the gilding. The cup and the saucer have a delicately-sculpted rim. The cup sits on a dainty pedestal and the saucer sweeps gently upward. Royal Grafton fine bone china, was produced by A.B. Jones & Sons, a family-owned business, in Staffordshire, England, from 1900 to the early 1970s when it was sold. Royal Grafton is highly prized for its quality, cobalt blue colorways, and elegant floral gill patterns. Originally simply Grafton, the company became Royal Grafton after it was recognized with a Royal Warrant from Queen Mary.
