Vintage Fort Howard Paper Placemats Western Cantina Set of 16 Unlaminated

This is a set of 16 vintage paper placemats printed by Fort Howard Corporation of Green Bay, Wisconsin, marked with print number 970-54 on the front. Each placemat depicts a colorful psychedelic-sunset western desert scene: a row of storefronts labeled Cantina, Howard Hotel, and Bank along a dusty street, framed by saguaro cacti, rocky mesas, and a whimsical bird character dressed in a pink poncho, white sombrero, and orange cowboy boots, twirling a lasso. The border is decorated with a repeating pink and orange heart and arrow motif. This set is unlaminated, in its original paper state, and shows some natural edge warping and slight curling consistent with age and storage rather than damage from use. Because the paper is unlaminated, individual sheet measurements vary slightly from mat to mat due to that warping; each measures approximately 10 by 14 inches, though buyers should expect minor variation across the set. The vintage graphic style is consistent with novelty roadrunner-themed paper placemats popular in the 1960s-70s. Please review all photos closely, as they are part of the description.
