This item is from a manufacturer's attempt to create washable pure silk kimonos and samue (work clothes). They applied shrink-proof processing to Yuki-Mao Tsumugi (a sturdy and durable fabric). To make it cost-effective, they likely utilized leftover stock of wide fabric, approximately 41.6cm wide and about 21.3m long, suitable for ensembles. However, when they tried to sell it, the original price exceeding ¥100,000 for a finished kimono, haori (jacket), or samue was too high, leading to the abandonment of the project. This is the remaining raw fabric being cleared out!

It is useful not only for kimonos and haori but also as material for samue, zabuton (cushions), Buddhist robes, tanzen (winter robes), hanten (short jackets), bed covers, patchwork, and more.

There is plenty of length, so it can be shared among several people.
