Clarinet Mouthpiece Josef by Playnick B2 Selected
84.48 $
Description
This is a clarinet mouthpiece specially ordered by the Japanese woodwind instrument maker Josef from the Austrian mouthpiece maker Nick.
Based on Nick's most popular Play Easy series model, B2, this mouthpiece features a thicker outer diameter designed to fit French-style clarinet ligatures and improve the tendency for the high register pitch to drop.
This mouthpiece was purchased directly from Josef's workshop, with a professional musician selecting it from their entire stock of 12 available pieces.
It was such an exceptional mouthpiece that I purchased two in total.
The price at the time was around 30,000 yen.
While Josef mouthpieces are now difficult to obtain, Nick is currently renowned worldwide, including in Japan, as a symbol of the highest quality and most premium mouthpieces, with a list price of 50,000 yen.
