Description
This is a vintage and collectible service pin from the Federal Prison Service, commemorating 20 years of dedicated service. The pin features an octagonal design with 'FEDERAL PRISON SERVICE' clearly inscribed around the top half. The center depicts a book with a key, symbolizing knowledge and security, with '20 YEARS' prominently displayed at the bottom. The pin has a classic gold-tone finish with white enamel accents, creating a striking contrast. It is equipped with a clutch back (butterfly clutch) for secure attachment. The reverse side shows a faint manufacturer's mark, 'METAL ARTS', indicative of its quality craftsmanship. This piece is a significant historical artifact for collectors of police and correctional memorabilia, representing a long tenure of public service within the US federal system. It is in good vintage condition, showing minor signs of age consistent with its history, as can be seen in the detailed photographs. A perfect addition to any collection of law enforcement or historical pins.
