[Nitty Gritty Dirt Band / Uncle Charlie and His Dog Teddy +2]

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is an American music band formed in Long Beach, California in 1966.

Although they have undergone numerous member changes (Jeff Hanna and Jimmy Fadden have been constant members), they have never disbanded and have been active for over 50 years.

They debuted with their first album, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, in 1967, followed by their second album, Ricochet, in the same year.

In 1970, they released the comeback album Uncle Charlie and His Dog Teddy with a revised lineup.

This album features Jerry Jeff Walker's masterpiece Mr. Bojangles, Loggins & Messina's House at Pooh Corner, and songs by Mike Nesmith and Randy Newman.

In 1971, the album All the Good Times was also a hit, and NGDB became a popular band.

This CD features NGDB's breakthrough album, Uncle Charlie and His Dog Teddy.

This is a seminal album released during the dawn of country rock, and its immense contribution to influencing other country rock bands alongside The Flying Burrito Brothers, along with its deep respect for traditional music, makes it a masterpiece.

1970 release.
