Antique Haviland Limoges Covered Serving Vegetable Dish Roses Gold Trim 11.5"
Haviland
Antique Théodore Haviland Limoges oval covered vegetable dish in the delicate Apple Blossom pattern. A textbook French Limoges serving piece from the turn of the century. Made by one of the great Limoges firms at the turn of the last century; this mark was in use between 1904 and around 1925. Features: • Soft white porcelain with molded, ruffled, fluted border • All-over trailing vine decoration: pink cherry / apple blossoms shading to pale yellow, with fine green foliage and thorny stems • Same pattern inside base in three small sprigs and on lid in a large central garland • Double side handles and scrolled loop finial on lid, both highlighted in gold • Scalloped blank with embossed ribbing — the patented blank referenced in the backstamp Good antique condition for 120 years old. No chips, cracks, or repairs to body. Inside is clean and glossy with light utensil marks. Gold wear to handles and lid finial — see close-up macros — with rubs and fading to the gilt, exactly as expected on Haviland pieces of this age. Floral decoration is bright and unfaded. Tiny kiln speck on lid edge as made. Lid fits well, no wobble. Displays beautifully.
