Description
Elegant vintage serving bowl by Gorham Manufacturing Company, featuring a beautifully detailed Rococo-style scrolling border and classic polished silver finish. The underside bears the Gorham hallmark and form number YC1308, and the bowl retains its original Gorham Silver Original label. Pieces like this were designed for formal dining and entertaining and were commonly used as vegetable or serving bowls. ---------------------------------------- DETAILS * Maker: Gorham Manufacturing Company * Model / Form Number: YC1308 * Material: Silverplate * Type: Serving bowl / vegetable bowl * Style: Rococo / traditional * Approximate diameter: ~10 inches ---------------------------------------- CONDITION Good vintage condition with surface scratches and signs of normal use consistent with age. We found two dents upon inspection (pictured), and they're reflected in the price. The dents do not affect the border; the decorative border remains crisp. Please review all photos carefully as they form part of the description. ---------------------------------------- NOTES Vintage silverplate may develop natural patina over time. Many collectors prefer to polish pieces to their desired finish.
