[Synopsis]
The distant empire of Alagaësia was once a peaceful land where elves, dwarves, and humans coexisted. However, the empire is now in great turmoil under the oppressive rule of the evil King Galbatorix. One day, a 17-year-old boy named Eragon finds a glowing blue stone in the forest. This stone is none other than a dragon's egg, holding the fate of the world! Eragon secretly begins to raise the female dragon, Safira, who hatches from the egg. When his uncle is killed by monsters sent by the evil king, Eragon realizes his destiny. He has been chosen as a Dragon Rider, a legendary race that once possessed great power and protected the land.
