Handmade
Item Specifics: Style: Neoclassical / 1970s Ceramic Studio Material: Glazed Ceramic / Pottery Color: Creamy White Type: Trinket Casket / Jewelry Box Theme: Cherubs, Putti, Classical Mythological Figures Markings: Hand-incised signature 1972 on the bottom Condition: Pre-owned / Vintage with cosmetic hairline glaze fracture Description: Up for sale is a gorgeous vintage white ceramic horizontal trinket box/casket. A true piece of 1970s studio pottery history, the bottom is hand-signed and dated by the artisan, 1972. This highly decorative vanity piece features intricate raised relief moldings on all sides. The top lid showcases an elongated relief scene of classical reclining figures, complemented by a gorgeous stylized leaf border. The lower base features playful cherub/putti figures integrated into a dimensional relief landscape. Done in a smooth, elegant white glaze, this box makes an exceptional statement piece for a vanity, vanity tray, or vintage jewelry collection. Condition Notes: Good vintage condition with a bright, glossy glaze finish. Please note: The front-left sloped corner of the lid features a visible surface-level hairline fracture line in the glaze (as shown in the close-up photos). This is a cosmetic hairline line and does not go all the way through the ceramic body, so the lid remains structurally sound and stable. The piece also shows typical fine crazing lines and minor glaze anomalies consistent with a 1970s kiln firing.
