This is a vintage Benge from the late 1970s, strongly reflecting the design philosophy of the legendary Burbank era.
The most distinctive feature is the **MLP bore** engraved on the piston casing. This bore size, slightly larger than the standard ML, can handle a powerful airflow, resulting in an overwhelming resonance and brilliant high tones.
The bell is the Number 3 Bell, which is synonymous with Benge. It resonates very efficiently, producing a bright, edgy sound that is quintessentially Benge. This setup is ideal for big band lead players or those who want to make a statement with their solos.
As this is a vintage instrument, signs of use are unavoidable.
